How to add batch characteristics to an equipment/tool?

The more complete the equipment or tool file is, the easier it will be for the manager and maintenance technician to perform equipment maintenance.

In the equipment file, you can add characteristics or obtain characteristics from the equipment family.

Equipment/tool characteristics

In the Characteristics tab, it is possible to assign one or more characteristics to the equipment/tool. These characteristics can be of the following types:

  • Number;
  • Text;
  • Date/Time;
  • Boolean;
  • Enumerated.

When saving the record, the following validations are performed on the characteristics:

  • Number: the text entered in the Value field is checked to ensure that it is a number, that the number of decimal places corresponds to the unit of that characteristic, and that the separator corresponds to the user's language;
  • Date/Time: the text entered in the Value field is checked to ensure it is a Date and/or Time;
  • Boolean: Boolean: the text entered in the Value field is checked to ensure it is 0 for False and 1 for True;
  • Enumerated: the Enumeration Value is checked to ensure it corresponds to the values of the selected characteristic.

Note: Characteristics can't be repeated.

Obtain equipment/tool characteristics

To obtain the characteristics of an equipment/tool, the following steps should be followed:

  1. Access the menu by selecting Assets | Equipment | Tools;
  2. Edit Equipment/Tools;
  3. On the Operations button, select the Obtain Characteristics option;
